Welcome to Cumming
Join this rapidly growing community on the banks of Lake Lanier
One of Atlanta's fastest-growing suburbs is Cumming, located near the west side of Lake Lanier in Forsyth County. The city, with just over 7,000 people, has a small-town atmosphere and an easy commute to Atlanta. Cumming has all the advantages of a lively suburb. New construction and new subdivisions are under development in Cumming that will provide new single-family homes and townhomes.
The town was founded in 1833 and named after local resident William Cumming, who fought as a colonel in the War of 1812. For a century, the town served as a commercial hub for the farmers. The Sinclair Station, preserved as a historical site, was the first gas station in the county to use electric pumps. Today, Cumming is a thriving community with an appreciation of simple pleasures and outdoor life.
